Holocaust im Gedächtnis einer Puppe : unterwegs auf Lebensspuren von und mit Inge Auerbacher
Relates the life story of Auerbacher, who was born in 1934 in Kippenheim, Germany, and was one of the few children who survived Theresienstadt. As a small child, Auerbacher possessed a doll that had been designed for the Olympic games of 1936, with Aryan features, blond hair and blue eyes. The doll, Marlene, was taken to Theresienstadt and served as Auerbacher's close friend, with whom she could share her feelings and fears. After the liberation in 1945 the family emigrated to the USA. Reports on the production of a film about Auerbacher by Giora Gerzon, "The Olympic Doll", and a 2001 visit of Gerzon, Ruder, Auerbacher, and others to Theresienstadt and to the factory which produced the Olympic dolls. Mentions, also, Auerbacher's book, "I Am a Star", and an exhibition organized in honor of her seventieth birthday by students in Kippenheim.
