Sharing the story, Aboriginal and northern energy experiences : energy efficiency and renewable energy, finding new ways for climate change control
Aboriginal & northern communities across Canada have undertaken numerous projects involving energy efficiency & renewable energy. This publication presents profiles of six such projects that demonstrates the ways in which these communities are developing innovative approaches to energy efficiency & renewable energy in the following areas: small hydro, wind power, solar energy, district heating by wood fuel, energy efficient housing, and waste heat recovery. Information is presented, where applicable or available, on project background, project development, site selection, success factors, system operation & performance, costs & benefits, monitoring results, and future directions.
