A romantic screwball comedy centered around two eccentric characters: Chiu Kong Sun, a self-assured but amiable loan shark aspiring to become a chef to realize his dream of emigrating to Canada with a nice Japanese girl, and Au Ka Wai, a rebellious daughter who does not want to follow in the footsteps of her restaurateur father. When the ownership of her father's restaurant is jeopardized by a bet made by a rival chef seeking to monopolize Hong Kong's culinary scene, the newly apprenticed Sun helps Ka Wai find down-and-out master chef Liu Kit to compete on behalf of her ailing father in a challenging, three-day, three-course competition. After the depressed, drunk Liu Kit is comically reunited with his lost love and restored to his culinary prowess, Sun and Ka Wai assist him in preparing three exotic dishes to defend the ownership and reputation of the restaurant
