Ten one-hour episodes about the residents of a Warsaw apartment building that each feature one of the 10 commandments as a thematic construct. The episodes explor ordinary people dealing with inner torments, hard decisions, and shattering revelations, with the stories grounded in the humanity of the characters. Each episode is self-contained, from "Decalogue, one" ("So who is he?"), the story of a boy who starts asking the hard questions of life from his rationalist father and religious aunt, to "Decalogue, ten" ("It's all that has left"), a story of estranged brothers who bond through an ordeal involving their father's priceless stamp collection. The stories in Decalogue are stories of tragedy and triumph, both expansive and intimate, some of which are profoundly moving and others delicately shaded
