Horst Rosenthal, a young German Jewish cartoonist, was sent by the Nazis to the Gurs concentration camp in 1942. While there, he drew satirical cartoons about concentration camp life featuring Disney characters and advertising tropes. Rosenthal was gassed in Auschwitz in 1943 but his notebooks survived; this book presents facsimiles of the notebooks in color, together with information about Rosenthal's brief life
