The spurious letters addressed to the marquis de Sévigné (p. 125-326) were composed by Louis Damours, though sometimes ascribed to C.P. Jolyot de Crébillon. The correspondence between Ninon de Lenclos and Saint-Évremond (p. 331-387) is genuine, however. Cf. Dict. de biog. française; BM Cat. Photolith. ed. to 1955
