Register of dentists, 1887-1921
The Board of Dental Examiners and its predecessor/successor, the Board of Registration in Dentistry, have been responsible for registering dentists and (since 1915) dental hygienists to practice in Massachusetts and for investigating complaints against them. A register of dentists is maintained to list all applicants to whom certificates of registration have been awarded (MGLA c 112, ss 44). Information includes date, name, address, degree received, certificate no. and date issued, fee charged, and remarks (e.g., duplicate certificate issued, date of decease)
