Survey of damage to historic adobe buildings after the January 1994 Northridge earthquake
Spanish colonial missions and Mexican rancho and pueblo adobe structures are among California's earliest existing structures and the only remains of the first settlement by Spanish and Mexican people. The Northridge earthquake allowed the damage that can be caused by an earthquake to be assessed.
