Nuniyé Tehlgh-th : land of the wolf

Tenille K. Campbell (Author)
This young adult novel tells the story of Kelly Estatheneh, a young Dene woman living at the English River First Nation reserve in Northern Saskatchewan. The novel is based on a Dene legend that all people used to have the ability to change shapes with animals (shift forms), and Kelly is a member of the last pack with this ability. She must discover who she is in this comingof- age story filled with legends of old such as the Whitikow and Trickster, and define who she wants to be with her friends, boyfriend and secret crush. She falters and fails, as most teenagers do, and finally comes to terms with her identity and pack position when she loses everything else in her life. Once she accepts her role in the pack, she gathers strength from her relationships and family ties and defeats the Whitikow
