"Letter writing was as natural to Tom Merton as praying. He had hundreds of correspondents. From September, 1961, to his death in December, 1968, I was one of them. The letters that make up this book are thus a tiny part of of an outpouring from Gethsemani to across many states and countries...There are two seasons for this sampler.
