Children involved in prostitution : report
Presents findings and recommendations of a task force examining the prevention and treatment of, and intervention in, prostitution in which persons under the age of 18 are involved. The task force conducted its investigation by reviewing previous research and related initiatives, receiving submissions from interested parties, consulting selected stakeholders, and field visits with police services and outreach programs. The task force focus was on male and female youth primarily involved in street prostitution, based on the premise that children involved in prostitution are victims of sexual abuse. This report reviews the characteristics of children involved in prostitution and presents recommendations that focus on issues that are achievable and viable in the following four areas: law enforcement, education, health services, and social support
