Biography of John Hamilton Morgan (1842-1894), who was born in Indiana, and fought with Illinois troops in the Civil War. In 1865, he contracted to drive a herd of cattle to Salt Lake City, Utah, and after his arrival, quickly became a Mormon convert. He served several missions, and in 1884 became a "general authority" as one of the First Seven Presidents of the Seventies
