This thesis is the first extended study of Clara Janes's poetry and prose. Clara Janes (Barcelona, 1940), began writing poetry at thirteen and by twenty-four her first work in poetry, Las estrellas vencidas (1964), was published. Since then she has published fifteen books of poetry, five novels, two anthologies, an epistolary, a travel book, a biography, a short stories collection, numerous articles of literary criticism and translations
