E. M. Forster: A comparative analysis of fiction and film
This study examines five novels by E. M. Forster and the films made from them in the 1980s, and finds that the films are as much documents of their period as the novels are of theirs. The films are products of the "heritage industry" that defines the past in England in terms of commodities, but they also operate within the tradition of readers' interpretations of Forster's work
