Les formes des pronoms personnels de l'haïtien et leur place en comparaison avec celles du français
This thesis examines the form and the position of personal pronouns in Haitian in order to determine their probable origin, whether Modern French, older varieties of French, or African languages. After showing the similarities between the form and position of personal pronouns in older varieties of French and in Modern Haitian, the author concludes that earlier forms of French rather than Modern French exerted the greatest influence on the formation of Haitian pronouns. This conclusion does not exclude the possibility of concurrent influences of African languages on Haitian pronouns, but these influences lie outside the scope of French linguistics
