The famous sleuth, Detective Duck is called by the chief of police to solve the crime wave caused by Lady Baffles. Meanwhile, Baffles, impersonating an Indian princess attempts to "reclaim" eight large pearls just delivered to Mrs. Gotta Millun. Mrs. Millun ejects the "princess" and calls Detective Duck, who substitutes eggs for the pearls, and stands guard over the safe. Baffles drugs Detective Duck's wine, but before it takes effect, he locks her in the safe. Detective Duck then succumbs to a terrible nightmare, and Baffles escapes without the pearls, but leaves a comical note promising to try again
