Stalwart the bushranger ; with, the tragedy of Donohoe
'Stalwart the Busranger' began life as the melodrama 'Tragedy of Donohoe, published in 1835, and based on the recent outbreaks of the 'wild colonial boy'. Thirty years later this had been expanded to a full-length tragedy. It satirizes colonial injustice and snobbery. Both versions are published here
