Will workplace incivility result in work-family spillover?
"This study hopes to propel incivility research beyond the confines of the workplace to explore and investigate likely spillover or displacement behaviors from incivility targets towards family members outside the organization. Research findings showed that workplace incivility did permeate into the family domain via spillover effects. Secondly, it identified psychological distress experienced by incivility targets as a partial mediator through which incivility permeates the family domain, resulting in spillovers to family life. Lastly, it examined potential moderators of incivility on work-family spillover. The role of family support was demonstrated to be counterintuitive, with high family support exerting a reverse moderation effect on incivility outcomes "--Author's abstract
