Ch. 9 (pp. 82-95), "Au temps du 'cosmopolitisme'", and ch. 12 (pp. 117-121), "L'affaire des blouses blanches", recall the effects of the Stalinist antisemitic campaigns after World War II: the annihilation of Jewish writers and other members of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, and the "Doctors' Plot".
