Death in a heartbeat : Dr Victor Chang was a famous surgeon on the brink of realising his greatest dream, implanting the world's first artificial heart. Onetragic day when colliding with a car an argument ensued between the docotor and two asian men, there appeared to be s struggle and it seemed as if the men were trying to force Dr Chang into their car. Seconds later a shot rang out and Dr Chang fell to the ground. The first shot was followed by a second at close range and as the gunmen fled, Dr Victor Chang lay dying in the gutter. News of his murder sent shockwaves around the country. Chiew Seng Liew and Phillip Choon Tee Lim were found to be the persons responsible for the killing of Dr Chang. Armed with an article about the successful Chinese Australians, they hoped to kidnap Chang and demand a ransom. They sideswipped Dr Chang's Mercedes, then demanded he get in their car. When he refused, Liew panicked and shot Dr Chang twice in the head
