Twelve-year-old Ellen wishes she was gifted and not feeling so left out. During summer vacation she starts hanging around with an older group of kids, but they get her into trouble. Trying to find something else to do, she starts helping out at the local playground and in the end is recognized for her efforts in helping the younger children and their parents have a more enjoyable summer
