On dangerous ground
Jim, a tough New York City detective so filled with hate that he lets his fists speak for him when interrogating any suspect, is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. He is sent to the countryside to investigate a rural killing. He encounters the victim's vengeance-seeking father, a man seething with so much hatred that he becomes for Jim a mirror image. He also meets Mary, the blind sister of the mentally disturbed murderer, and through her compassionate view of the world he becomes more human and understanding
