Contains the full text, in English, Welsh, Cornish and Irish, with some Latin, of Lhuyd's Archaeologia, together with 18th-century translations into English of the Welsh, Cornish and Irish prefaces. Also included by the editors are Lhuyd's 'Design' (1695); his questionnaire 'Parochial queries' (1696); his 1703 appeal for further subscriptions; commendatory verses in various languages with new English translations; contemporary prose appreciations of his researches; and short texts on Welsh place-names by Lhuyd, together with a Gaelic glossary bearing his annotations.
