Host Ralph Staub interviews actor-dancer Gene Nelson, who says that he regrets not having been able to perform at testimonial dinner for Sid Grauman (1879-1950) a few years before. Staub then introduces sequence about Grauman testimonial from unidentified Screen snapshots film short. Title: "In all Hollywood there is no man more respected for his achievements or better loved for his good citizenship than that pioneer showman, Sid Grauman, the guest of honor at a testimonial dinner to which Screen snapshots takes you tonight." Guests at dinner include Calif. Gov. Earl Warren, Leo Carrillo, Joseph M. Schenck, Daryl F. Zanuck, Charles Coburn, Frank Fay, Jean Hersholt, Art Linkletter (who also narrates), Ginger Rogers, Jesse Lasky, Jack Warner, Mack Sennett, Sophie Tucker (who sings Doin' the Grizzly Bear), and Jack Benny. Film concludes with plug for new Gene Nelson film, Three sailors and a girl (released 1953, per Maltin)
