La porta della salvezza : una donna e sua figlia in fuga dai nazisti
A fictionalized autobiography, relating the experiences of Lea Pincherle (the author's mother) and her daughter Sophia (the author?) between July 1943-June 1944, under the Nazi occupation of northern Italy. The Pincherles were members of a family of bankers in Gorizia. With the establishment of the Repubblica Soziale Italiana, the Pincherle family dispersed. Lea and Sophia wandered from one city to another in northern Italy, provided with false documents and assisted by friends and members of the Catholic Church. In June 1944 they crossed the Swiss border illegally and found asylum until the end of the war. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism)
