Superior rendezvous-place : Fort William in the Canadian fur trade

Fort William began as a fur trade post for the North West Company and eventually became part of the municipality of Fort William. The municipality became part of the city of Thunder Bay in 1970. The last surviving building from Fort William's fur trade era was demolished in 1902. The replica, "Old Fort William," was opened in 1973, nine miles from the original site
