Hanford Site historic district : history of the plutonium production facilities, 1943-1990
In 1996, the US Department of Energy and the Washington State Historic Preservation Office designated the Hanford Site Manhattan Project and Cold War Era facilities as a Historic District. Many of the facilities have been or will be destroyed, so this book's photographs and narrative history is intended to serve as a record of the structures and activities related to producing plutonium at the Hanford Site during the Manhattan Project and the Cold War. The main authors are archaeologists, architectural historians, and anthropologists, who worked in conjunction with Hanford staff for verification of accuracy and authenticity
