Women's access to land and their role in agriculture and decision- making on the farm: experience of the joluo of Kenya
Working paper on the relationship between rural women's usufructory rights to land ownership and their role in agricultural production in Kenya - based on data collected in 1974-75, examines social structure of contemporary luo (joluo) society, land tenure, landlessness, land utilization, task allocation and decision making on the farm as well as changes in sexual division of labour, and concludes that women's rights are weakened by the land reform programme.
