Mariana Bracety Cuevas

Known by her pseudonym "Golden Arm" during the revolutionary process of the Lares Revolt in 1868. She sewed the flag of the emerging government of the Republic of Puerto Rico, declared that year. She was one of the many women who built Puerto Rican history along with their fathers, brothers, husbands and sons. She is one of the more than 500 people imprisoned for the incidents in the Lares Revolt. Her participation and commitment in the struggle for the independence of Puerto Rico represents a chapter of pride for all women
