Nyungah land : records of invasion and theft of Aboriginal land on the Swan River, 1829-1850
In an address to the Legislative Council in June 1837, Governor James Stirling referred, on two occasions, to invading the Swan River region. Many of the early colonists discovered the land was owned by Aboriginal people, and was forcibly taken away from them. Their reactions and records are recorded in this book
