2004-2005 Hands on Stanzas Anthology

More and more research indicates that programs like Hands on Stanzas provide new challenges for successful students and often engage students who don't respond to traditional educational programming. Furthermore, lab-coated scientists who poke around in the human brain with gadgets that measure brainwaves are finding that reading and listening to poems improves the way youngsters and adults learn and remember. Since 2001, more than 7,000 students and their teachers have had a Hands on Stanzas poet. Nearly 10,000 of these young writers have been published in anthologies like this one and as many anthologies have been distributed free of charge. --Poetry Center of Chicago
