The book-catalogue brings together historical artwork created between the late 1950's and early 1970's and now part of the collection of the MNBA, acquired at the same time of the birth of the kinetic art in Argentina, with added pieces from private collections and other institutions. The edition comprises important texts that present for the first time a complete picture of Argentinean kinetic art, including an essay by Elena Oliveras, a pioneer in the study of kinetic art in Argentina and testimonies of optical-kinetic artists collected by Mariana Marchesi. The staff of the Área de investigación (Research Area) of the museum also participated with texts. Includes an essay dedicated to the paradigmatic work by French of luminokinetic art, Nicolás Schöffer (1912-1992), the installation "Lux 2" (Máquina de metal)- one of the pieces presented in the 6th Biennial of Sao Paulo in 1961
