Identity papers : contemporary narratives of American Jewishness
The author explores what Jewish American literature tells about Jewishness and Jewish difference. She focuses on narratives that portray Jewish regeneration through feminist Orthodoxy, queerness, off-whiteness, and intermarriage. She argues that gendered, sexed and raced debates about Jewish identity become opportunities rather than crises, and signs of creative potential rather than symptoms of assimilation and deracination
