Reading for bodies: Literature from Argentina's Dirty War (1976-1983)
This dissertation examines the linguistic representations of bodies, in particular those of the desaparecidos, in literature after Argentina's Dirty War. Contemporary Argentine literature in its discussion of this military dictatorship demands recognition of the politics and dynamics surrounding the corporeal, such as the politics of desaparicion on, the abjection of desaparecidos, and the reempowerment of bodies in resistance writing
