Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Ragsdale families who came mainly from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Some settled in Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia in the 1700s. Some focus is on (but not limited to) the ancestors and descendants of Hezekiah Ragsdale (1779-1854) and his wife Nancy Horrall. During the 1800s, some moved to Canada, and to Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia. Later descendants also lived in California, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, and elsewhere. Some had Cherokee bloodlines and African American bloodlines. Some slaves' names are given. Information is extracted and transcribed from baptismal records, Bible records, biographies, birth records, cemetery inscriptions, census, church records, city directories, correspondence, court records, death records, deeds, DAR records, histories, land records, marriage records, military records, newspapers, obituaries, parish records, pensions, tax records, wills, and other sources. Dates covered are ca. 1500 to 2001
