Syria's apex generation

The exhibit features artists from Syria's "Apex Generation"--Abdul Karim Majdal Al-Beik, Nihad Al Turk, Othman Moussa, Mohannad Orabi, and Kais Salman - exploring a new, post-uprising school of painting. Informed by extensive traditions of expressionism, symbolism, and abstraction, this burgeoning group has forged ahead with the creative objectives of their predecessors, who advocated the social relevance of art. The exhibit appeared at the Ayyam Galleries in Dubai and Beirut during the summer of 2014
