Olga Medvedkov (Editor), Joseph Salukvadze (Editor), Svenska sällskapet för antropologi och geografi (Editor)
Cities reveal changing politics and policies that shape the spatial and social structure of societies and set different trajectories for their development. Cities are important sites for the generation of material welfare, progress, and innovation; however, they also engender acute problems, including huge socioeconomic disparities and spatial inequalities that shape their landscapes. The recently launched 'New Urban Agenda'1 emphasizes the necessity to convert our settlements into sustainable, ecologically stable, healthy, enclusive, and decent places of residence and work over the next 20 years
