Relates the story of the "Kindertransporte, " the transfer of 10,000 Jewish children - mainly from Germany and Austria - to Great Britain between 1938-40. Based on personal testimonies and records of the Refugee Children's Movement held by the Central British Fund for World Jewish Relief, describes the organization of the transports, the departure and separation of the children from their parents, the foster families in England, and the difficulties faced by the children in adjusting to their new lives.
