"The magazine was collected into sixteen regular semi-annual volumes by the publishers and then re-issued with the additions of corrections and indexes. The volumes from 1845- 1847 (I-VI) comprise the First Series of the magazine, while the volumes from 1848-1852 are the New Series (I-X ; whole numbers VII - XVI). The AWR was first published by Wiley and Putnam (January-June,1845), then by George H. Colton (July 1845-1847) from 118 Nassau Street, and, finally, by D.W.
