A teacher's guide to student inquiry : Betty : The Helen Betty Osborne Story
The guide provides support for utilizing Betty in high school social studies courses. It is meant to complement curricular outcomes pertaining to historical and contemporary Indigenous issues in Canada; Indigenous history; social justice and equality; and active citizenship. In the guide, you will find: ideas for using the book in the classroom ; suggestions for teaching sensitive issues ; guiding questions to encourage and guide iscussions ; theme-based options for further research-based student inquiry ; suggested reading. Note: Given the sensitive nature of the content in Betty, it may not be suitable for all readers. It is recommended that Betty: The Helen Betty Osborne Story should be considered for students in Grade 9 or above
