Henke's California law guide

Daniel Martin (Editor), Laura A. Cadra (Editor), Dan F. Henke
The purpose of this new edition is to update the 8th edition, published by LexisNexis in 2006. Three points to highlight are: this edition is revised chapter by chapter; includes new contributors; and features new illustrations and appendices. This book is designed specifically for California legal research. It is not designed for a California lawyer who practices in Federal Courts or in other state jurisdictions. From the first edition this title has started out with a short overview of the legal research process and then carried that process into the different types of resources that are used in California research: constitutions, statutes, cases, regulations, local government sources, the attorney general, the state bar, law libraries, legal education, and all different types of secondary sources. The legal resources are addressed from both an historical and a current-use perspective. The resources are covered in their print and other alternative formats. The appendices have always given the user helpful bibliographies, charts, directories, and lists of governors, justices, law schools, law libraries, and vendors.--Publisher
