État des connaissances sur l'avifaune de la région visée par le projet hydroélectrique Grande-Baleine
This report describes the distributions and abundances of the birds occuring in the area of the proposed Great Whale hydroelectric project. Most of the inland habitats likely to be affected by the proposed development are generally considered to be of low primary productivity and of relatively low nesting success for the bird fauna. Mitigation measures such as the provision of artificial nesting sites, the creation of wetlands or the planning of construction activities to avoid interfering with birds during critical periods of the year could decrease the impacts of the proposed project on some species. Howewer, some mitigation measures may prove too costly to undertake on a large scale, and others are as yet unproven
