Copies of correspondence sent to and by John Underwood, President of the Underwood Typewriter Company. The company's headquarters was in New York but their factory was in Hartford, Connecticut. Most of the correspondence sent to Underwood was written by either the superintendent or the manager of the factory. Letters describe events at the factory, including small fires and ways of increasing production
