Alexandre Mury : Fricções históricas
The artist, who studied advertising and worked as an art director for an agency in Vitória, exhibits a video and large format photographs, all starring the artist himself, with re-interpretations of well-known works of art history, icons of culture and collective imagination. In Historical Frictions, the artist shaved his hair, beard and eyebrows to become Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. The artist portrays himself in the place of characters that we have become accustomed to see in the museums of the world, in reproductions of books, or even on the Internet
