Count Belisarius
Belisarius is the most successful general of the age, the scorge of the Vandals, the Persians and the Goths; but they are not his only enemies. Back in Constantinople the Emperor Justinian, jealous of his success and wary of the dangers of successful generals, is continuously plotting against his loyal subject. If it weren't for the friendship between Belisarius' wife and the empress Theodora, things would look much bleaker for Belisarius and for the Roman Empire
