"The Staff Development Centre Hausa Course for Beginners was produced by the Department of Languages for the instruction of Government officers requiring a knowledge of Hausa. The Course is designed for intensive use in a language laboratory. This book contains the dialogues and drills which are on the tapes, together with an English translation and a very few grammatical explanations which are designed to assist the student in using the drills. It is emphasised that the Course requires a teacher. A complete instructor's handbook is available from the Department of Languages at the Staff Development Centre and tapes will be reproduced on request."--Preliminary page
