Holway R. Jones Papers, 1927-1986

Collection consists of papers reflecting "Holly" Jones's conservation activities and the national and local conservation organizations in which he participated. The collection also contains papers which originated in the files of other conservation leaders, notably Three Sisters Wilderness files which probably came from the Karl Onthank Conservation Papers (collection Ax 356 in this library) and French Pete files from the papers of UO professor Richard Noyes. Files from Ted Snyder, who chaired the Sierra Club's National Wilderness Committee, and of John Patt, Jr., who was Middle Santiam Wilderness Coordinator, Oregon Chapter, Sierra Club (1982-1983), are also included in the collection. The collection also contains a group of research files assembled by Jones on Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, California, from records of the National Parks Service and other sources
