London Rifle Brigade, Cadets cap badge
This badge is made of brass and was worn by London Rifle Brigade cadets beginning in 1908. It features a wreath with crossed sword and mace behind a shield bearing the Royal Standard of the United Kingdom (with the Irish harp, Scottish lion rampant, and English lions passant guardant), all underneath a royal crown. Around the shield are the words, "LONDON RIFLE BRIGADE", with the unit's Latin motto "PRIMUS IN URBE" ("First in the city" in English) below, which refers to the fact that it was the first volunteer rifle corps in the City of London. Beneath this motto is a shield bearing the City of London's arms (a cross with an upward-facing sword in the upper-left quadrant) with "CADETS" below
