Victor Martinez Málaga (b. Peru 1896 - 1976) was a renowned portraitist and costumbrista painter from Arequipa, who became Director of the Escuela de Artes (School of Arts). Despite some of his paintings are exhibited in the local Historical Museum, his work is scarcely known, so this new editorial contribution of the Arequipa Regional Government emphasizes his artistic legacy, with images of his paintings portraying a traditional Arequipa
