Notes on sermons, 1671-1679
Notes taken by John Hull, of Boston, Mass. during sermons delivered by various clergymen in Massachusetts, 1671-79, are self-numbered and include vols. 38-39 and 45-48. Notes were kept during sermons given by Revs. Peter Thatcher of Milton, Mass., Urian Oakes of the Church of Christ in Cambridge, Mass., and Increase Mather of Boston, Mass.; and church teacher Samuel Willard of Boston, Mass., among others, and include name of the preacher, Biblical passages cited, location and date preached, a summary of the sermon. There are lists of preachers and Biblical passages on the first page of most volumes
